IgniteLansing 2.0!
The Temple Club in Lansing's Old Town played host for the sold-out, IgniteLansing 2.0. The Ignite format features a series of presentations, limited to five minutes and 15 slides. Instead of dry, plodding PowerPoints about a particular business, the presenters offered ideas and insight on everything from exotic fruits to "B-movie Survival Tips".

The presenters and attendees shared a central theme of positive thinking and raising awareness of the resource of talent the area offers. With state government, Michigan State University, Lansing Community College, established companies embracing change, and a growing number of forward-thinking companies, the Lansing area is home to a fantastic "creative class." Based on comments by some of the attendees, seeing the crowd of enthusiastic colleagues was either eye-opening or simply reinforced  the notion the area is shaking off the Rust Belt label. Special thanks to Al Hooper, owner of the Temple Club, and to the organizers and all the wonderful volunteers who made the event such a success.
